PRP - Platelet Rich Plasma

What is it, and why is it so great?

PRP gets its name from the fact that it uses your own blood to harness powerfully ‘regenerating platelet rich plasma’ (PRP). This plasma contains a high content of growth factors; the cells responsible for regeneration and repair in our bodies.

PRP works on the basis that the body’s own natural healing powers slow down the signs of ageing. PRP treatments have become so popular because it:

  • Uses the body’s natural resources

  • Is minimally invasive

  • Has very short recovery time

  • Can address the signs of facial ageing both below the surface and on the surface of the skin; resulting in re-volumisation, increased collagen and a more radiant complexion.

For optimal results, this treatment is usually combined with Advanced Microneedling, as outlined below.

Micro Needling

SkinPen is the first microneedling device approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, clinically proven to safely and effectively treat ageing skin, pigmented areas and facial acne scars- for ages 22 and up.

With as few as three non-invasive and affordable treatments spaced 30 days apart, you can improve your appearance– and step out with confidence.

HOW MICRONEEDLING WORKS

SkinPen creates controlled micro-injuries to stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing process, while minimising cellular damage. The result is effective remodeling of skin/scar tissue, whilst keeping the overall structure of the skin intact.

3 phases to the wound repair process:

Phase 1: Inflammation

Piercing the skin triggers your immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris,

increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue.

Phase 2: Proliferation

The wound is rebuilt with new granulation cells, which are part of the extracellular matrix.

Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.

Phase 3: Remodeling

The wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels.

Hyaluronic Acid fillers

Face and Lip fillers (dermal fillers) are substances injected into your face. They fill lines and wrinkles and add volume to areas such as your lips or cheeks.

This is not a permanent process and how long they last depend on things like the type of filler and where its utilised. The usual time span is around 6 to 18 months.

Most dermal fillers in the UK usually contain a natural substance called Hyaluronic Acid.

Please take into consideration that if you do have fillers the rest of your face will age naturally.

Muscle Relaxation Injections

A highly purified preparation of botulinum toxin A, a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Botox is injected, in very small amounts, into specific muscles, as a treatment. It acts by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to muscles and so paralyzes (relaxes) the muscles.

Wrinkle Reducing Injections are one of the most popular anti-ageing cosmetic treatments. Used to treat fine lines and wrinkles caused by facial expressions such as laughing, smiling or frowning, they can be used to correct:

Forehead lines/frown lines

Glabella lines (lines at the top of the nose)

Crow’s feet

Bunny lines

Neck lines (platysma bands)

NEW: effectively treat your migraine now with Botox injections

Wrinkle Relaxing Injections are incredibly effective at softening lines and wrinkles caused by facial movement. Skin appears smoother and wrinkle free. Results can last up to six months.
